| The discipline of "dog training" has been plagued by trainers using titles/expressions that represent a combination of smoke blowing/obfuscation/verbal charlatanism and/or blatant lying. Be wary of trainers who use the following language: |
| "Dog Psychology": There is no such discipline. No university degree program exists. |
| "College": What college? An accredited university or community college? Dog training "colleges" do not offer a superior level of learning to any other program. |
| "Licensed": No dog training licensing body exists. |
| "Therapist": The use of this word and the people that may use it is protected by law, and only applies to certain fields, such as physical therapy. |
